17th CLASS - HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE
Today:
1) We went to the VCN Room and watched news clips to all be up to date on the current Haitian situation involving the recent earthquake. We discussed the current Haitian needs and if we should alter our plans.
2) I gave a report of the Staff BOD Meeting from last day 3 re: possibilities of working with ProjectLove to fundraise and buy school material, or to send our donations from the upcoming 2nd annual end-of-year locker cleanup in June.
3) Student BOD Reported from last day 2.
4) You decided that our primary focus is to raise money to help provide relief now to Haitians. It was decided we would do the money donation drive, similar to what QHS did to buy turkeys during the holiday season and consider the school donations later. Leaders volunteered to do this which needs to be runned by the Student BOD so we know what exactly each class is doing.
5) We decided to propose Thursday, February 18 (Day 3, one month from today) as a Haiti Awareness Assembly. Everyone continued planning what they would like to do then.
6) We went around the table and you each set a goal for the Awareness Assembly.
If you missed class:
Please catch up with your go-to person and see me!
