Today:
AWESOME WORK TODAY!!
1) As a class, we discussed the presentation from last week with Free the Children.
2) To communicate effectively with all the other classes involved in the project, you came up with the idea to have 5 students represent our class and meet with other students representing the other classes.
3) 9 of you took the stage and all gave great election speeches.
4) 5 of you were chosen through secret voting.
5) As a class, we went over the evaluation rubric built from your ideas from the 5th class before.
6) We reviewed your self- and peer-evaluations.
7) You were given the last half hour of class to start on your polished Awareness Posters.
If you missed class: You all were there!
ALL POSTERS AND EVALUATION HANDOUTS ARE DUE BY THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 - IF I AM NOT IN MY CLASS, DO *NOT* SLIDE IT UNDER MY DOOR - GIVE IT TO THE OFFICE PLEASE!

Today:
1) We discussed your research on the organization Free The Children.
2) We reviewed the needs of Haiti that surfaced from your poster first drafts.
3) We went to the VCN Room and participated in a great presentation put on by Free The Children. Thank you E. Sweeney for organizing it! It was also nice that L. Tardif could make it.
You all should be proud of yourselves because you all were professional and asked great questions. It is nice to see you are starting to link the Haitian needs with the needs you learned about today.
4) We also experienced an outstanding presentation by two of our secondary 4 students. More information will follow.
If you missed class: See me ASAP.
Next class Wednesday, October 28 (Day 8): I would like you all visit the link above and be ready to continue talking about.

Next class Wednesday, October 14 (Day 8): Word is that there is an organization that may be of interest to us... find out about the organization "Free The Children":

Why was it established?
How do you think the organization could be of use to us???
I realize many of you are going on a Geography outing and will be collecting this work at the beginning of the day.
