We played an island survivor game and you came up with many ways to use different objects to meet the basic needs of survival in your teams! Good work :)

29th CLASS- HAITI DONATION DRIVE PLANNING

Today:
1) Re: the outing, volunteers signed up for different tasks.
2) Reminding committe should be reminding you to bring your food to make soup on May 10.
3) Thanks to those who offered to bring rakes for the outing May 11.
4) Leaders from last year discussed what worked for the end of year locker clean up and retold the story.
5) You chose to do the same approach... yes, we will still use orange and now pink garbage bags.
6) Tasks were delegated, people signed up to go talk to different advisory classes the day of the locker clean up.
7) The group from last year modeled what to say when that time comes.
8) Thanks to the volunteers who signed up for the donation drive organization committee.
9) BOD Members, reminder to take that info. to the meeting coming up... how is the progress going with the other schools?
10) Nice work letting one of our secretaries know what a great job she does!
SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

28th CLASS - HAITI DONATION PROJECT PLANNING

Today:
1) Leaders from last year reported on a successful project where the class did a soup donation drive, went to a park, then $200 in the afternoon raking leaves!
2) As a class, you brainstormed different ideas that you wanted to raise some more quick money.
3) You took a vote.
4) Soup drive for soup kitchen, cookies for hospital, and raking leaves were chosen.
5) Good job folks with your initiative getting volunteers to bring stuff.
6) Great job with the class organizing for permission we'll need to get.
7) Date of making soup chosen: May 6.
8) Possible date of field trip chosen: May 7.
9) Another student presented her initiaitve to have a whole-school fast for Haiti.
Nice footwork! Thanks others for grabbing volunteers of who are interested in that.

24th CLASS - UPDATES AND PLANNING

Today:
CONGRATULATIONS TIMBITS FUNDRAISING COMMITTEEON A JOB WELL DONE!
The discussion and ideas were so productive that we didn't get all things done, but:
1) You reflected on your entrepreneurial qualities developed in the last week.
2) You shared it.
3) We discussed the Entrepreneurial Contest and students came up to read out the parts they created and other parts created were read out.
4) You brainstormed many new ideas to improve the challenges faced in recent fundraisers. Those ideas were recorded and will be brought up at the next Student Board of Directors (in school) meeting.

Next class we will continue with committee reports and documentary taping information.

Today:

2) The timbits fundraiser reported on the money they have raised so far - good work team!
3) Another group presented about a glasses donation campaign for Haiti - start spreading the word to your family and friends and get those specs in!

Today:

2) You reflected on how the Advisory classes are doing re: the fundraiser from your visits yesterday.
3) A group presented each Advisory class and the amount they have raised on a great poster.
4) A group prepared an announcement to communicate it to the school, and read it before the lunch bell.
5) You brainstormed your ideas to try to up the amount of money already raised.
6) The Student BOD team reported and discussed what they are now going to discuss at the upcoming meeting re: your ideas.
7) We briefly discussed ideas for the upcoming Awareness Assembly.

17th CLASS - HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE

Today:
1) We went to the VCN Room and watched news clips to all be up to date on the current Haitian situation involving the recent earthquake. We discussed the current Haitian needs and if we should alter our plans.
2) I gave a report of the Staff BOD Meeting from last day 3 re: possibilities of working with ProjectLove to fundraise and buy school material, or to send our donations from the upcoming 2nd annual end-of-year locker cleanup in June.
3) Student BOD Reported from last day 2.
4) You decided that our primary focus is to raise money to help provide relief now to Haitians. It was decided we would do the money donation drive, similar to what QHS did to buy turkeys during the holiday season and consider the school donations later. Leaders volunteered to do this which needs to be runned by the Student BOD so we know what exactly each class is doing.
5) We decided to propose Thursday, February 18 (Day 3, one month from today) as a Haiti Awareness Assembly. Everyone continued planning what they would like to do then.
6) We went around the table and you each set a goal for the Awareness Assembly.

16th CLASS - PLANNING & PRESENTING

Happy New Year!
Today:
1) We welcomed a new leader to class who took the course last year and caught her up to speed.
2) As a whole class, discussed long-term planning to promote awareness of Haitian's needs.
3) In small groups, you created detailed plans to promote awareness.
4) Each group present to the whole class.
For next class Monday, January 18:
You need to come up with a way we can put all the ideas TOGETHER that will work.
